Prosedur Standar Mutu untuk Mencapai Standar Kualitas Produk Ekspor Ekspor Wooden Furniture Sofa pada PT Harrison and Gil Java Semarang
The Growth of the International Trade in Era Globalization creates stricker competitive climate in each company to produce most qualitative products. To be the leader in the international trade, a company must produce products that must fulfill the export qualification in order to make customers satisfied. Quality assurance for production is one of the important factors to produce qualitative products. PT Harrison and Gil Java is an exporter company of wooden furniture. The exported products are sofas, chairs, tables, frames, office furniture, and buffets. The international market for the above products are Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, The Netherlands, and The United States. Sofa is a unique product that needs upholstery more than the other wooden furniture products. The supervision about upholstery must be done well to produce sofa with good quality export. The aims of this study were to identify quality standard for basic materials for sofa production, the production of sofa, and the supervision of sofa production at
PT Harrison and Gil Java Semarang.
In this final project, data were collected by observation, interviews, and literature studies. The final project was written descriptively. The result of this study showed that to produce an export quality products had to be done through the supervision for basic materials, the supervision for production, the supervision for upholstery, and the supervision for packing. The recommendation to Quality Control Department is that they must do the supervision more carefully to accept the basic materials.
