Globalization era following AFTA in ASEAN countries, gives some opportunities, challenges, and threat in every sector especially in that economic. If those things are not balanced with the proper services and good controls, this way causes any discrepancy in discharging the imported goods, and it could be unprofitable for the country is revenue from tax.
PT Tristar Logistic Semarang is a private company which has the activity as EMKL nominated importer to discharge goods from custom area. The purpose of this final project report is to identify the document needed in discharging goods which claimed as red way and the flow of document handle, and to know the caused of red way importation and the percentage of red way import case, and also the determination of red way import documents clearance expense.
The data in this research were collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies, and in the writing of this final project, descriptive method is used.
The conclusion drawn in this final project is that the cause of red way importation at PT Tristar Logistic Semarang is due to risk analyzed for 83% from year 2006-2008. The risk analyzed may come from the commodity, importer status, and the origin country of importer and when the importer is totally new comes. And the rest about 17% is caused by the random system of custom office. In the component of expense the discharging of import goods, there are some difference between red way and green way importation in that red way clearance takes longer time than the green way does.
