The payment system in international trade are: advance payment, opens account, draft collection, consignment, letter of credit, counter trade, and telegraphic transfer.
CV Kalingga Jati, located in Jepara, is a company engaged in the business of making furniture products. All the products are exported to Germany, the Netherlands, and some other countries. The systems or methods of payment used at CV Kalingga Jati Jepara are Letter of Credit and Telegraphic Transfer.
The purposes of this final report were to know the payment systems used in export transactions at CV Kalingga Jati Jepara, identify the parties involved in the delivery of exported goods at CV Kalingga Jati Jepara, and learn the way the company overcome the obstacles and constraints in export transactions using the L/C and TT at CV Kalingga Jati Jepara.
Concerning the use of Letter of Credit in its export activity, CV Kalingga Jati often finds that the descrepancies found in L/C as one of its export documents hinder the cash from the bank, while the use of Telegraphic transfer finds no obstacles, because the payment system is so simple where there are not any delicate document as strictly as they are required in L/C.
