Pengendalian kualitas produk ekspor wooden furniture pada PT Harrison dan Gil-Java Semarang
Today global crisis has impacts on all sectors including export import. The consequence of this global crisis decreases the economy not only our country but also in another country. So, companies have to pay attention to quality product of the company to interest a lot of consumers and to face competitors.
The aims of this final project an titled “ quality control of exported wooden furniture product at PT. Harrison & Gil-Java Semarang” are to know (1) the standard of product quality, (2) quality product control processing, , (3) causing factors on defective products, and (4) the handling of defective product at PT. Harrison & Gil-Java Semarang, and to analyze quality product export wooden furniture in periode of 2007- 2008 with control chart. Control chart was used to analyze the data. The methods of data collection were observation, interview and literate study.
The result of the quality control analysis of the exported wooden furniture product at PT. Harrison & Gil-Java Semarang for two years (2007-2008), shows that the level of total defective products in 2007out of control in Januari because of human error factor. Beside that in 2008 showed that the level of total defective product in Januari, Februari, Maret out control because of the machine and device factor.
The implementation of quality control at PT. Harrison & Gil-Java Semarang start from raw material, the production process, and the finished products. The factors which caused defective product include human error, machine, and device factor. The handling of defective products, done by PT. Harrison & Gil-Java Semarang covers correction of defective product if necessary to be renewed and offered to another buyer.
