THE INFLUENCE OF SUPERVISOR ‘S LEADERSHIP AND EMPLOYEES’
COMPETENCE TO EMPLOYEES’ PERFORMANCE AT PT PLN (PERSERO)
DISTRIBUSI JAWA TENGAH & D.I YOGYAKARTA
The purpose of this research is 1) to know the qualities of supervisor leadership, the level of employees’ competence, and employees’ performance; 2) to know the influence of supervisor leadership and employees’ competence to employees’ performance at PT PLN (persero) Distribusi Jawa Tengah & D.I
Yogyakarta.
The methods used to collect the data are interviews, questionnaires, and literature studies. Questionnaires are distributed to employees as respondents and deserves to be analyzed as many as 70 pieces. The data analysis methods are semantic differentiation scale and multiple linier regression analysis. Semantic differentiation is used to see qualities of supervisor leadership, the level of employees’ competence, and employees’ performance. While regression analysis is used to determine the influence of supervisor leadership and employees’ competence to employees’ performance. Data are processed using SPSS 16.00
The result of the calculation of scale is 3.26 to supervisor’s leadership, 3.36 to employees’ competence, and 3.38 to employees’ performance . It means that the supervisor's leadership qualities, competence level, and the level of employees’ performance is very good. The result of the calculation of regression obtained Y =
1,513 + 0.191X1 + 0.381X2. It means that result of regression gives positive influence on employees’ performance. The influence of employees’ competence to employees’ performance is greater than the of supervisor's leadership. The coefficient of determination is 0.260. It means that the employees’ performance is influenced by leadership supervisor and employees’ competence. While the rest of 74% is influenced by other factors.
