Analysis Of Paper Inventory Management According to Economic Order Quantity Method AT PT Temprina Media Grafika Semarang In 2009
Inventory management is basically aimed to minimize costs and to maximize profit within a certain time. One of the ways of how to manage inventory is by making a purchase based on production plans with the appropriate calculations, so that production activities are not disrupted and the fund invested in inventory is not excessive. The problem of this research is in the procurement of raw materials, company often has too many pile up that can cause swelling of the cost of investment in storage. The purpose of this study is to identify the optimal number of newsprint inventory according to Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method and to know the difference in the efficiency of newsprint inventory costs according to EOQ and Material Requirement Planning (MRP)that has been used by the company. Based on the results of the study, it is revealed that the order frequency of EOQ method is smaller than the MRP method. In addition, there are significant differences between the total inventory costs between EOQ and MRP. It means that the purchase of raw materials using the EOQ method is more efficient than MRP method. PT. Temprina Media Grafika Semarang should use EOQ in ordering raw materials in order to minimize the costs of raw materials, besides it can determine reorder point to prevent stockout caused by raw materials delayed.
