The Mechanism of Export Furniture at CV Kalingga Putra Jepara
This final project report is concerning the mechanism of furniture export done by CV Kalingga Putra Jepara. The purposes of this final project are to know how communication between exporter and importer is done, the mechanism of furniture exporting activities carried out, the goods and documents are prepared and sent, and the payment is received.
The final project is written descriptively. The collected data were primary and secondary ones which obtained through interviews, observation, internet browsing and literature studies.
On the export mechanism, CV Kalingga Putra Jepara starts the activity from communication stage by promotion, and then continued with sales contract for new buyer. While communication stage for regular buyer is only from bargaining, purchase order and sales contract, because they have known each other according the last contract. CV Kalingga Putra only has regular buyer from Asia, Europe and America, not new buyer until 30 June 2013. The next stages are production process, proposal, Shipping Instruction, Inspection or Quality Control by Buyer, stuffing process, Fumigation process, shipment, Taking Over of B/L, and collecting payment of exported goods. The barrier of export furniture at CV Kalingga Putra comes from the difficulties in bargaining stage with buyer. The cost of production which continuously rises, is not followed by the price rising. Terms of trade at CV Kalingga Putra Jepara are using FOB and CNF. CV Kalingga Putra Jepara receives payment with L/C and T/T. The implementation of payment system with letter of credit is used by buyers from Taiwan, Denmark, Argentina, and Chile. While payment system by telegraphic transfer is used by buyers from USA, Denmark, Holland, Greece, South Korea, and United Kingdom.
