Analisis pengendalian kualitas produk WPP Bags pada PT Poliplas Indah Sejahtera
In facing market segment competition, a company demands for increasing product quality continuously. Quality control is necessary to economize cost and press product damage number. So that it is able to satisfy its customers.
The purpose of this final project were to describe the production process and quality control activities, to find out the quality standards of products, to find out the number damage product and analyzing the level of product quality.
The data were collected by observation and intervie, then analyzed using control chart, c-chart to find out average of damaged product, upper control limit, control limit, and lower control limit. A chart was made to describe the level of product damage. The data used were production data in automatic cutting and sewing machine on May 2012.
From the result of analysis at the first week until the fifth week all damaged products are still under control limit. On accumulated data of one month it was found 1 shift of damaged product exceed upper control limit. That happened on May 5th 2012 on shift A, with the level of damage is 5.76%. After doing research in production sector, it was known that damage which occurred was caused by weakened censor of cutting machine which was used to measure bag cutting length and the damage happened on activator components in one of cutting machine.
The conclusion is quality control using c-chart, PT Poliplas Indah Sejahtera is able to find out level of product damage. So that it can immediately make perfect actions to solve that problem and to create good quality products and to satisfy its customers.
