Pengendalian kualitas (quality control) produk furniture dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas produk ekspor pada PT Artanis Pratama Jaya Semarang
The purposes of this study were to find out the causes of defective product, the obstacles encountered in quality control activities and to learn how to overcome obstacles encountered in quality control activities at PT Artanis Pratama Jaya Semarang.
The methods of collecting the data were interview, observation and literature study. Sources of the data obtained from primary data and secondary data. The types of data were qualitative data and quantitative data.
The result of this research shows that there were three stages of quality control at PT Artanis Pratama Jaya. The stages are control of raw materials, production process control and control of finished products. Based on the results of this research, the analysis of quality control activities at PT Artanis Pratama Jaya is still under the control of quality standard. The percentages of defective product were more than the defective standard that was more than 3%. It was caused by factors of raw material, human error and machine factors.
The recommendation is to conduct sorting product at the end of each stage of production. The contract employee turnover should be at least 1 year of work. The old machines immediately replaced to increase product quality.
