The implementation of marine cargo insurance for import AT PT Kubota Indonesia
PT Kubota Indonesia is one of Manufacture Companies in Indonesia, which manufactures Horizontal Diesel Engine (HDE) of high-quality with brand name of “Kubota”. The company imports spare parts of diesel engine from abroad. PT Kubota Indonesia usually uses FOB Incoterms when importing goods. As an importer, PT Kubota Indonesia should insure the goods to the insurance company in order to keep the goods in safe condition.
The purposes of this final report are to identify parties involved in marine cargo insurance, to find out the documents required in marine cargo insurance, to identify the procedure of registering marine cargo insurance, and to describe the procedure of claiming marine cargo insurance.
The data used in this final project were collected by interviews and literature reviews. It is written descriptively.
The result of this final project showed that the parties involved in marine cargo insurance are PT Kubota Indonesia as the insured, PT Asuransi Tokio Marine Indonesia as the insurer, imported goods as subject matter, average adjuster, and insurance policy. The procedures of registering marine cargo insurance started from PT Kubota Indonesia import the goods then fill the application form of marine cargo insurance until it pays the insurance premium. Whereas the procedures of claiming marine cargo insurance begins by submitting the claim letter, then risk survey, completing the documents required and payment of indemnity.
