The development of science and technology are very influential on the progress of business in government and private sector. They compete to enchance professionalism in the office, banking, industrial, manufacturing, hospitality, insurance, education, and others. To promote business requires good management, and management of information requires a careful precise and fast. The recording was found in the archive. It is the authentic evidence of the company’s such as in the PT Perkebunan Nusantara (Persero) IX Semarang.
The aim of this study is to apply the letters storage with number system in Secretariat Division at PT Perkebunan Nusantara (Persero) IX Semarang. And I have to apply the treatment, supervision, especially the removal and destruction of archival records letter at this department.
The project report is written descriptively.The data collection method are observation, interview and literature review.
The finding of the observation is the letters storage with number system has been running properly, incoming letters with the scheduled agenda sequence number. Procedure for handling letters has been running well so letters can be accepted by the concerned quickly and precisely. Supervision records are not wel organized because there is no control by the staff of the Secretariat Division of the borrowed records and archives are back
It is concluded that letters storage with the numbering system is more practical and effecient because it has a relatively short time process and have good accuracy, so it can be applied to large-scale company.
