This study aims to analyse the effect of regional financial performance on the
economic growth of the City of Semarang using the variables of financial
independence ratio, efficiency ratio, and effectiveness ratio. The method used is
quantitative analysis with multiple linear regression using secondary data from the
budget realization report and economic growth of the City of Semarang for the
period 2017-2023. The results of the performance study show that regional
independence and effectiveness are in the high category, but there is still a lack of
efficiency in financial management. Meanwhile, the results of the statistical analysis
show partially and simultaneously that the three ratios affect economic growth. This
study has limitations in not being able to assess the extent to which the programs
financed provide tangible benefits to society and contribute to economic growth.
The contribution of this research is to provide insights for local governments in
improving financial performance and to serve as a reference for academics in the
study of regional financial management.
